Our privacy policy and how we use your data

This Privacy Policy explains how the Christians Thrive Trust, doing business as PowerNames ("PowerNames", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website at powernames.ai and the services we provide through it (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information you provide to us

  • Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you join or create a team workspace, we also store your role and membership within that team.
  • Billing information. When you purchase a subscription or credits, payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers; we retain records of your transactions, plan, and billing status.
  • Content you submit. The brand names, keywords, projects, and related research you create or run through the Service are stored so we can provide the Service to you.
  • Communications. If you contact us through our contact form or by email, we keep a record of that correspondence.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, such as pages visited, features used, and actions taken.
  • Technical data. We collect your IP address, browser type and version, device information, operating system, and timestamps of access.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and remember your preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • create and manage your account, teams, and workspace memberships;
  • process payments, subscriptions, and credit purchases;
  • run the name research you request, including domain, social handle, and linguistic checks;
  • send transactional communications such as account verification, billing notices, and service updates;
  • respond to your questions and support requests;
  • monitor, secure, and improve the Service, including detecting and preventing fraud and abuse;
  • comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR) applies, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service), your consent (where required, for example for non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel), database, authentication, and storage providers (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery providers. These providers process your data only on our instructions.
  • Availability data sources. When you run a name check, the name or handle you are researching is sent to third-party data sources (such as domain registrars and availability APIs) to retrieve results. We do not send your account details with these requests beyond what is technically required.
  • Team members. Content you create within a team workspace is visible to other members of that team according to their roles and permissions.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information after account closure where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or maintain business records (for example, billing records). When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • the right to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • the right to request deletion of your personal information;

You can exercise many of these rights directly from your account settings, including updating your details and deleting your account. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our databases. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
